Privacy Policy

The short version

reefcalcs collects aggregate page-view statistics through Vercel Analytics. No cookies are set. No personal data is stored. No account exists to create. Every calculator runs entirely in your browser.

What we collect

Vercel Analytics records anonymized page views with the following metadata only:

• The page URL you visited (e.g. /calculators/alkalinity-dosing)
• The referring URL (e.g. google.com) if your browser sent one
• Country (derived from IP at request time, then discarded)
• Device type (desktop / mobile / tablet)
• Browser and operating system family

Vercel Analytics does not use cookies, does not store your IP address, and does not create a profile of your browsing across sites. See Vercel's analytics privacy policy for the full technical detail.

What we don't do

• No advertising trackers, no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel.
• No retargeting cookies.
• No newsletter or email collection forms.
• No account system. You cannot "sign up" for reefcalcs because there is nothing to sign up for.
• No selling, sharing, or licensing of any data to third parties — there is no data to sell.

Calculations stay in your browser

Every calculator on reefcalcs is a client-side JavaScript function. Your tank dimensions, dosing inputs, water parameters, and results are computed locally and never transmitted anywhere. We have no server-side database. We could not retrieve your inputs even if we wanted to.

Email

If you email hello@reefcalcs.com, that message is delivered to the operator via Cloudflare Email Routing. The contents of the email are subject to whatever email provider you used to send it and whatever provider the operator uses to receive it. We will never sign you up for anything based on emailing in.

Third-party services we use

• Vercel — hosts the static site files and runs analytics. See their privacy policy.
• Cloudflare — manages DNS and forwards email to hello@reefcalcs.com. See their privacy policy.

Embedded calculators

The calculator pages at /embed/<name> are designed for third-party sites to iframe. Those embeds load the same calculator JavaScript directly from reefcalcs.com. The host site cannot read your inputs or results because of standard browser iframe isolation. We do not collect analytics on embedded calculator loads.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we collect or use data, the date at the top of this page will move. The conservative position (no cookies, no profile, no personal data) is intentional and is not expected to change.
