Nitrate (NO₃⁻)
End product of nitrogen-cycle. Reef target: 0.5–10 ppm.
Too low (<0.5 ppm) and dinoflagellates thrive. Too high (>20 ppm) and algae blooms start. Most healthy reefs run 1–5 ppm.
