Photosynthetically Usable Radiation. The PAR subset that zooxanthellae pigments actually absorb.

Chlorophyll-a peaks at 430 nm and 665 nm; peridinin at 480 nm. Two lights can read the same PAR while delivering very different PUR. PUR is why reef tanks look blue.
